Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

This is a perfect date night dessert. It's decadent with all the chocolate and adding the brown butter to this recipe gives it such a rich flavor that you are going to love! Best part is that it comes together in no time at all!

Ingredients:

  • 8 inch cast iron skillet

  • 6 tablespoons butter

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup white sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided in half)

  • 1/3 cup chunks of milk chocolate bar ( divided in half)

Direction:

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan on low/medium heat. Then you are going to continue cooking it on low while stirring occasionally for about 10-15 minutes till you get that rich, deep, brown color. Take off the heat and set to the side to cool slightly while you prep the rest.

  2. Preheat the oven to 325 °F and lightly grease the cast iron with butter.

  3. Combine the sugars and gorgeous brown butter in a large bowl. Mix well by hand to make sure everything is combined.

  4. Now you will need to add the egg and vanilla. Mix till combined.

  5. Add in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until everything is just starting to combine.

  6. Next add in half of the chocolates and give it one final stir to mix everything together.

  7. Press the cookie dough into the skillet then sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips onto the dough and lightly press to make sure everything won't move.

  8. bake for 20-25 minutes till the top is nice and lightly brown. Cool for at least 20 minutes and enjoy with or without ice cream on top!
