This is the perfect meal for a good hearty dinner. Most likely you have everything you need in your pantry for this yummy dish.

Ingredients:

2 1/2 pounds of potatoes cut into 1 inch cubes *
1 pound of ground sausage
1 onion **
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp. sage
1/2 tsp. thyme
2 tsp. parsley
2 tbs. butter
1 tbs. olive oil
1 cup of cheddar cheese

directions:

  1. Brown the sausage in a very deep dish pan over medium heat. When finished, scoop out the meat and drain on paper towels ***

  2. Next melt butter and olive oil over medium/high heat. Get it all melted then add in your potatoes and onion. Cook it up for about 5 mins while stirring occasionally. Add all your seasonings to the dish and give it a good stir.

  3. Now that you have the potatoes seasoned put the lid on, turn the heat down to medium/medium low, and cook till potatoes are getting tender( about 20 mins.) stir occasionally

  4. When the potatoes are tender take the lid off and turn to medium heat and fry them till they start to crisp.

  5. Add the sausage back to warm up again. Then add your cheese, give is a good mix and turn the heat off.

  6. Next plate and enjoy!

Notes:

* I used red potatoes but you can use rustic or golden

** I prefer to use sweet onions in most of my recipes but yellow will be just as good

*** You can drain the fat from the pan but adjust oil as needed for cooking potatoes
